Hey mamas (and dads too!)—if you’re searching for family things to do in Vero Beach this year, you’re in the right spot!

Vero Beach (and nearby Sebastian) is seriously one of the best-kept secrets on Florida’s Treasure Coast for raising kids or just enjoying a relaxed getaway, and as a local realtor,I know local gems.

Unlike St. Lucie, we still have peace here, for the most part- beautiful beaches, and tons of chill, educational fun that actually makes everyone happy.

2026 is extra exciting with ongoing waterfront buzz and classic favorites that never get old. Here’s my roundup of the top family activities in Vero Beach right now—perfect for toddlers, big kids, and everyone in between.

1. Beach Days in Vero Beach

Vero’s beaches are clean, safe, and way less hectic than spots farther south.

  • Humiston Park Beach — Right in town with a playground steps from the sand, picnic spots—ideal for little ones.
  • South Beach Park or Round Island Beach Park — Lifeguards and gorgeous sunsets.
  • Sebastian Inlet State Park (quick drive north) — Shell hunting, shallow swimming in “The Cove,” fishing from the jetties, and some of the best family-friendly nature trails. There is a small fee to park but it’s worth it for more quiet.

Pack snacks, boogie boards, and sunscreen—these make epic full-day outings!

2. McKee Botanical Garden – All Time- Favorite

Hands down one of the best family activities in Vero Beach! The Children’s Garden is a lot of fun for kids: climb the pirate shipwreck slide, splash in the mosaic fountain and karst pad, explore the Fairy Forest, Music Maze, and giant mushrooms. It’s shaded, interactive, and educational without feeling like school. Parents love the peaceful trails too—win-win for hot Florida days.

3. The Waterfront Buzz: Three Corners Project Updates for 2026

Big news shaking up Vero— the Three Corners redevelopment (that old power plant site) is moving forward! Plans include a waterfront village with shops, restaurants, a skate park, fishing pier, and family play areas. Negotiations are wrapping up, with possible groundbreaking in 2027, but it’s already sparking excitement about more kid-friendly spots coming soon. Vero’s growing in the best way—keeping that small-town charm while adding fun for families.

4. More Easy Ideas: Parks, Nature, and Events

  • Environmental Learning Center — Touch tanks, trails, aquarium vibes, and hands-on lagoon learning. They have several events throughout the year. This is nearby Disney’s Vero Beach Resort, too! You can grab brunch with the characters.
  • Riverside Park — Playgrounds, splash time, and free outdoor concerts or markets.

Boy mom, girl mom, snack-time negotiator, queen of the fairies on some days, dump truck driver on others, and chief memory-maker for our little crew. Madeleine & Walker keep me laughing, learning, & wondering how many snacks two tiny humans can eat in a single afternoon. I’m lucky enough to be married to my bestest friend, Patrick King — my biggest cheerleader in every dream, from designing our backyard Florida garden, fulfilling my home designs on my pinterest board to building my little real estate business.

I’m originally a Vero Beach girl, born and raised on these charming shores, with sand between my toes, salt in my hair (and way too much baby oil — which I’m now trying to undo with plenty of red light therapy). Life’s winding journey carried me away for a while — twenty years to be exact — starting in Orlando at UCF, & eventually leading to a magical decade living on a tiny Caribbean island, where I married the love of my life and started our family.

But no matter how far I wandered, my heart always knew its way home.

Today, I’m back where it all began — in the sunshine and sea breeze of the Treasure Coast — raising our family, putting down deep roots, and helping others find their perfect place here too (yes, I’m lucky enough to call real estate my “day job”).

I believe home is more than just four walls; it’s the heartbeat of a family, the backdrop of our favorite memories, and the community that surrounds us. And I’m so grateful to be living out that belief every single day, in the place that’s always held my heart — Florida
