Breathwork in Stuart, Florida: Breathing Into Balance
From Survival Mode
Let me begin by telling you the reasons this breath work in Stuart has changed me.
I am a mother to one very energetic 4 year old, although really I feel like a mother of 5. Between our two dogs, my fiancé, and the fish that my child wanted (which somehow became mine) I’d say I am definitely a mother of 5. Ha ha.
Navigating motherhood in itself can be a whirlwind. We are literally thrust into Motherhood after giving birth and there is no downtime, recovery period, guidebook- anything at all.
Yet somehow, we survive and we keep ourselves and others alive. Once the transition to parent occurs, there is a sudden change in dynamic between the relationship with yourself and the relationship with your spouse/partner.
It’s inevitable and not always easy to navigate while simultaneously raising a child, working, cooking, cleaning, and trying to tackle the 999 things on the ever-growing/never-ending to-do list.
It is no wonder that a lot of us find ourselves burning the candle at both ends, desperately clinging onto any semblance of “normalcy” that we can. Of course, with the exception of childbirth, all of the aforementioned could apply to mothers/fathers/caregivers, alike. So, I am not singling anyone out, just to be clear.
This is how I was living for the first three and a half years of my child’s life, until one day I was desperately seeking a change of pace and some relaxation. Several google searches and endless reviews later, I stumbled upon a hidden gem located in downtown Stuart where I found the most amazing human: a unicorn, that would transform my life in ways that I don’t even know that they’re aware of to this day.
To Thrival
Her name is Amber with ASHI BODYWORK providing her services at the cutest place in Downtown Stuart, Fl, Mangata Wellness. Amber is not only a licensed massage therapist and a Breathwork facilitator, she is a mother, a sister, a wife, and a dog mom. She started as my bodywork (massage) therapist, introducing me to a true therapeutic massage that I never knew actually existed.
With every Bodywork session, I got to know her more and could just feel the genuine passion Amber had for her work. She helped relieve years of stored tension in my upper head/neck/shoulders from my years of working as a Dental Hygienist and also from carrying around a large baby that was 11lb 1 oz at birth (yes, you read that right!) that soon became a heavy toddler.
Often, how we respond externally has everything to do with what is going on internally. I have never been able to successfully meditate- I either fall asleep or think about that never ending mental to-do list, which prevents me from going deeper.
After becoming a mother, without even realizing it- I had put everything and everyone before myself. I always put my own self-care on the back-burner because something always needed to be tended to at any given time.
Admittedly, I have this quiet envy towards my fiancé because it is quite easy for him to put himself first before everything else. Meanwhile, for me, it takes active work and focus to make myself a priority.
“A healer does not heal you.
A healer is someone who holds space for you while you awaken your inner healer,
so that you may heal yourself.”

How Breathwork and Bodywork Can Provide Healing
With time, I learned that she was also a Conscious Connected Breathwork facilitator. Breathwork was foreign to me, but I was excited to try something new that would provide me the self-care I deserved and had neglected for so long.
Conscious Connected Breathing is safe and powerful way to infuse the body with oxygen and energy, leading to a recharge of our own body systems and enable them to work to their full potential and healing capacity.
What to Expect with Breathwork
Although performed while laying down in a comfortable position, it is active work through breathing that takes you on a 90-minute journey within yourself aiding you to reach a higher level of consciousness, while allowing you to release tension, stress, and trauma from your body.
During your journey within, you will be guided quietly by Amber’s voice, while also being supported by music. Each session starts with a discussion where you set your intentions and ends with reflection/journaling and grounding before you leave. Amber does a magnificent job at creating a safe-space for you to be, let go, and transform.
I feel lighter, happier, and liberated.
I completed a 1:1 session, a group session and a 2:1 session with my new best friend, and felt like I was a butterfly emerging from its chrysalis.
With just three Breathwork sessions, I have been able to release a lot of resentments I was holding onto since childhood, it brought forgiveness within that I never thought I would be able to have for someone close to me, and also provided me so much gratitude and peace within myself.
Amber’s gentle guidance and expertise, I was able to successfully take a deep dive within. This in turn, has allowed me to be a far more present mother for my child and my partner.
Is It Right for You?
Finding Amber, making the time, and doing the work has positively impacted my life in so many ways.
My hope in sharing my own personal journey with Breathwork and Bodywork is that regardless of how you decide to do your self-care: remember that you matter and that you deserve it. After all, we cannot pour from an empty cup!
