Making new friends as an adult isn’t always easy, especially after moving to a new city, working from home, becoming a parent, or simply realizing your social circle isn’t quite what it used to be.

A new Treasure Coast Dinner Club is hoping to make that a little easier with a simple quiz. You take the quiz and get matched with others who have similar interests to you.

The newly launched social club will bring local adults together for dinners throughout the Treasure Coast, creating an easy way to meet new people without the pressure of organizing a gathering yourself.

The first dinner took place in Downtown Stuart on September 22 at 6:30 p.m. The next Treasure Coast Dinner Club is Tuesday, October 20, in Downtown Fort Pierce, where the foodie culture is strong.

The concept is simple: guests sign up for a dinner, take a quiz that matches you with 5 other people, show up, and meet a table of people they may not have otherwise crossed paths with.

There is no need to already know someone attending, and coming alone is encouraged. The goal is to create the kind of casual, face-to-face connection that can sometimes be difficult to find as an adult.

The cost of the curated dinner (matching quiz, reservations, text reminders) is all handled by the organizer. The booking fee is $15.99 and you pay for your own dinner.

You know the general location upfront, but the restaurant isnt revealed until the morning of, adding more excitement to the concept.

More Dinner Clubs Are Coming to the Treasure Coast

The Downtown Stuart dinner is only the beginning.

Next up: Downtown Fort Pierce on Tuesday, October 20. Fort Pierce’s downtown food scene makes it a natural stop for the club as it expands into St. Lucie County.

Treasure Coast Dinner Club plans to host additional dinners each month, with gatherings planned throughout Martin, St. Lucie, and Indian River counties.

Some dinners will simply give locals an opportunity to meet new people over a meal, while others may be organized around a particular stage of life, occasion, or theme.

Future ideas include a “New in Town” dinner for people who recently moved to the Treasure Coast, dinners where couples can meet other couples, Secret Santa gatherings during the holidays, and events designed for people who might otherwise spend a holiday alone.

A “Don’t Be Alone on Thanksgiving” gathering is also among the concepts being considered.

Locations will change, giving participants the opportunity to meet different groups of people while experiencing restaurants throughout the Treasure Coast.

A Different Way to Meet People Locally

Much of today’s local community building happens online. Facebook groups and social media can make it easier to discover what’s happening nearby, but turning those online connections into actual friendships can be more difficult.

Treasure Coast Dinner Club is designed to take that connection offline.

Instead of a traditional networking event or a large social gathering, the dinners are intended to feel approachable. Share a meal, have a conversation, and see who you meet.

There is no expectation that everyone at the table will become best friends. The idea is simply to create more opportunities for people in the community to find one another.

For longtime Treasure Coast residents, it can be an opportunity to expand an existing social circle. For people who have recently relocated to the area, it offers a place to start building one.

The first Treasure Coast Dinner Club was held September 22 at 6:30 p.m. in Downtown Stuart. The next dinner is Tuesday, October 20 in Downtown Fort Pierce. Additional dinners and locations are expected throughout Martin, St. Lucie, and Indian River counties.
