How to Pick the Best Florida Strawberries
Go in season.
Bring a basket that is large enough for the strawberries to breathe. You don’t want to smush them.
Go early on a busy day. Most of the ripe one’s will be picked
Strawberries stop ripening as soon as they are picked, so don’t bother picking the white or green ones.
Pick the bright red ones.
Try to leave the stem and leaves intact so they don’t spoil as quickly
Strawberries last 5-7 days in a cool, well-ventilated area. I keep ours in the refrigerator.
Don’t wash or cut your strawberries until you are read to eat them.
Happy strawberry picking!
