Port Saint Lucie Florida: Tradition Square
Published January 2024
When people think of the family-friendly area in Port Saint Lucie Florida: Tradition Square, they think of the festivals and events in the lawn, nice architecture, and convenience of the downtown feel.
Tradition is a master-mind community in west Port Saint Lucie that is growing fast; It’s sort of the closest thing to Port Saint Lucie’s “downtown”.
There are tons of homes being built, as well as restaurants, shopping, and things to do.
We go to Tradition a lot when we want to enjoy casual dining and play-time in the lawn.
Tradition Square
Tradition square is a quaint plaza known as the Tradition Village Center. Within Tradition, there is a big grassy field in the center of what is known as “the square.”
Some big events are held here and some to mention are the seasonal ones, and the Taste of Italy.
On any day of the week, you’ll find people enjoying a stroll around Tradition Town Center, kids playing in the field or splash pad, and people eating outside at Pastaio, Taco Dive, or Sake Too Japanese and Thai.
Right behind the splash pad, is another restaurant called the Meating Street. This restaurant in Tradition is a great option for a less-casual, more upscale setting, with a nice atmosphere and delicious menu, especially their brunch menu!
Kilwins Ice Cream, and Tutti Fruit frozen yogurt are also at the square. Publix is also conveniently located in this plaza.
Across the street, is another shopping plaza known as the Landing at Tradition. Here Is where you’ll find TJMAXX, Target, European Wax Center, The Fresh Market, a few restaurants, like the Olive Garden, Longhorn Steakhouse, and more.
Here is a full directory of the stores and shops in Tradition, which you can filter to find what best fits your needs.
Chow Down Food Trucks
Chow Down Food Trucks in Tradition is every first and third Friday of the month. This is when the field turns into a fun place to sit on the lawn and enjoy live music, while the streets are closed off for food trucks.
There is a designated parking lot for these events which is so great because the Publix parking lot gets really busy.
Tradition’s Neighborhood Market
The Tradition Farmer’s Market is also at the square every Sunday. There is a lot of unique local, seasonal, artisan crafts, and fresh produce here. You can also expect something for the kids.
Check out my post for more detail and a full list of Farmers Markets on the Treasure Coast.
Restaurants and Drive-Throughs
On the North Side of Tradition Parkway, you’ll find even more restaurants and businesses. This is where the Starbucks, Dunkin’ Donuts, Burger King, Blaze Pizza, and Cool Beans Ice Cream are, to name a few.
Bonefish Grill, Outback Steakhouse, and First Watch are coming soon.
There is also Novalice Nail salon, (which has a chair for little girls to get the pedicures too,) a mailing center, a Marriott and Hilton hotel, Pop Stroke miniature golf, and more.
This is where Cleveland Clinic Tradition Hospital is; one of the top-rated hospital systems in the country.
Is there a playground in Tradition?
Yes! Aileen’s Treehouse is located behind the Town Center-near the homes. It is gated in, has a mulch floor, and is not well-shaded. This playground has a rock climbing structure, a swing set, a small playground with slides, a round-about sidewalk for strollers, and parallel parking. You can also park in the garage and walk over to the playground.
Transportation at Tradition
The TIM (Tradition in Motion) autonomous shuttle bus is a modern eco-friendly, electric means of transportation around Tradition. The vehicles have a tour guide onboard to answer any questions about the area during your route! TIM rides are always free of charge.

In progress, is the metallic Heart and illuminated Stripes and Stars Park landmarks. These two areas will feature huge structures of art for residents and visitors to view, take photos, and enjoy the scenic ponds, floral landscaping, paved walkways, and benches for relaxing outdoors in the community.
